Juju maestro, King Sunny Ade, has made public a list of Nigerian artistes he would love to collaborate with, and top on the list is Wizkid.
In an interview with PREMIUM TIMES, KSA said he would love to work with several talents in today’s Nigerian music industry.
“I am very proud of the current crop of Nigerian musicians and Wizkid is one of the Nigerian artistes that I will love to collaborate with,” he said.
He said he would also love to work with 9ice, Darey Art Alade and many more.
“I will also love to record some tracks with 9ice, Darey Art Alade, among many others. My doors are always open to any artiste that loves to collaborate with me as long as the song is right,” he said.
Tracing the evolution of the Nigerian music industry from his generation to date, he noted, “Today, some parents tell me, ‘Sunny this boy wants to do music can you help us put him through?’ This never happened during our own time. I am well versed in live music performance; whenever you attend my shows you will realise that I have a full band and I do not rely on computers.”
On his staying power, KSA whose song was featured in a 1983 Hollywood film titled, Breathless, said, “I thank God for His mercies and for making me what I am today”.
“With all sincerity, I will say I have it all, as there is nothing I have not achieved to date. I am always inspired to do more when I see people savoring and dancing to my music. Good music is always my stimulant. I am sometimes stressed out after performing at a show but my love for my job energizes me,” he said.
