Contemporary Nigerian business history will reserve a special place in its annals for Task Systems Ltd.

Founded by serial digital entrepreneur and Chairman, Zinox Group, Leo Stan Ekeh; Task as it is fondly called, is 30 years old: one of the few Nigerian-owned companies that has consistently thrived in the face of the peculiar challenges in the Nigerian business terrain for over three decades.

For aspiring entrepreneurs looking to build a business that will not only out-live them, but one that is equipped to effortlessly ride the turbulent waves of business sustenance, remaining a by-word for excellent service delivery in the process; Task Systems Ltd. represents one of the most fitting case studies.

Structured, ambitious, consistent, resilient and imbued with the uncommon tenacity and nimbleness to constantly re-invent in the face of the changing dynamics of modern business.

Task has the afore-mentioned attributes and more firmly embedded in its DNA.

Little wonder, many shelved their crushing schedules, business appointments and other pressing engagements on Thursday October 5th to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Task Systems Ltd.

Held at the company’s corporate headquarters in Gbagada, Lagos, the breakfast session planned to celebrate Task@30 quickly turned into an effusive out-pouring of encomiums and emotions as representatives of the crème of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), two former Managing Directors, current and ex-staff of Task Systems Ltd as well as Management and staff of the respective companies in the Zinox Group turned up in their numbers to honour Task. Also present were staff of e-commerce giant, Yudala and digital entertainment outfit, New Concept Media Group (NCMG).

With Chairman, Zinox Group, Ekeh and former Managing Directors of the company, Mr. Dave Ibelegbu and Mr. Stanley Okpalaeke featuring prominently, attendees at the event were taken down memory lane through a multimedia presentation which covered the founding vision behind the Task dream, the landmark strides recorded in the ICT sector and the future prospects of the business.

Emotions also ran high on the day with the moving contribution of Mrs. Ngozi Nwude, a long-serving staff of the company who started out as an ancillary staff but today works in the Accounts department; the sterling speeches of Messrs. Ibelegbu and Okpalaeke; wistful, witty and loaded with memories of their time at the helms of affairs at Task.

Also firmly in the spotlight on the day was Mrs. Olufunke Oduntan, Managing Director and current captain of the Task ship, whose gratitude-filled welcome address was one of the highlights of the event.

A core industry leader, Task Systems Ltd. has remained in the forefront of providing critical ICT solutions and implementing a plethora of ICT Projects to large corporate organizations and blue-chip companies in the Oil & Gas, Banking, Telecoms, Manufacturing and Public sectors.

Since inception, Task has played a leading role in the deployment of a number of robust platforms such as SDPC’s Group Infrastructure Desktop (GID), Total Elf’s STEP Software, Chevron’s Global Information Link (GIL) projects, Access Bank Blade Server Expansion Project and UBA IT Infrastructure Expansion Project, among others.

“We appreciate our OEMs for being our strength and blood, they got us to where we are today”, noted Ekeh, Zinox Group Chairman. “There wouldn’t have been the other companies in the Group without Task. We came with no money, but we were very ambitious. A lot of companies that Task started with have disappeared. It looks very easy, but it’s hard to maintain,” he added.

“Passing through inevitable challenges the country faced, we wouldn’t be here today without our OEMs and customers. So, we urge you to continue believing in us, as we look forward to another 30 years of doing business with you,” he concluded.

Task Systems Ltd. has received numerous awards and widespread industry recognition as a trend-setter and innovator in the delivery of core ICT solutions across a range of channels: a track record of results and success attributed to the company’s investment in its people, processes and technology.
