NIYI ADEBAYO IS 60 TODAY

Neither words nor symphonies, nor a thousand epigrams will do in commemorating his true essence and class as he clocked 60 years old today. Timeless anecdotes seep from his being like whirlwind on the grass and inscriptions teaching us that everything and anything about him offers priceless lessons in humility, fortitude and grace.

Yes, Niyi Adebayo is humble to a fault. Despite his status, carries himself like a mushroom, on whom the dew of heaven drops now and then.  Many would liken him to a contemporary pin-up but Adeniyi Adebayo, the former governor of Ekiti State, effortlessly surpasses the shimmer and allure of overstated praise. He epitomises merit and affluence with indescribable allure. He’s got a heart of gold too. He lives to improve the lot of others, the underprivileged in particular hence the contents of his pockets are often emptied to better the lives of impoverished, ragged families of the boondocks. However, the former governor of Ekiti State did what no one expected by bonding with the Chairman of Dangote Group.

The ex-Ekiti governor has regained acclaim and political capital, following his recent appointment as Chairman of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) by President Muhammadu Buhari FAAN chairman. While he waited for his comeback, he developed a highly rewarding and enviable friendship with Dangote who was reportedly very instrumental in resuscitating of social capital. Since his exit from the Ekiti State government house, Adebayo has been unable to land any plum role or position in politics.  Until his recent appointment as FAAN chairman and you have a man enjoying a full blast of second chance.
