27 YEARS OF MARITAL BLISS…JIM AND PATRICIA NWOBODO CELEBRATE

Even the fairest maidens burn to the end of their youth like wicker lamps blowing against the most dreadful desert squall. Like one such fair maiden, Patricia Nwobodo, begs to differ. There is no gainsaying that the wife of Senator Jim Nwobodo, has appreciated in womanliness and that rare humanity that distinguishes the regal from the inconsequential.

The beautiful wife of the former Governor of Enugu State, is back on the grind she doesn’t look like she would lose steam or quit anytime soon. The permanent feature at a series of high society soirees in the past seem set to rekindle her spark with uncharacteristic vitality and panache so much so that hardly anyone would remember that she had at one time or the other disappeared from the high society social circuit. Back in the days when her husband, Jim, held sway over Enugu politics like a medieval emperor, the couple became the darling of the State’s high society and their house automatically became a Mecca of sort for political jobbers, hangers-on and favour seekers.

However, their bubble got burst when the Federal government revoked the license of Jim’s Savanah Bank. As if that was not enough, his political might atrophied significantly during the reign of Chimaroke Nnamani whom he singlehandedly installed as governor and who metamorphosed into Jim’s albatross for the eight years of his tenure. Now, the bad times are over for the merry couple. The family bank’s license has been reinstated and Jim is gradually coming back into his former godfather role in the state’s politics. And Patricia is ageing gracefully too.

It’s hardly a surprise then that Patricia would seize the moment to get back on the grind. They recently celebrated their 27 years wedding anniversary.
