• Lagos commissioner wows Governor Ambode with financial discipline and class
The right chef never serves a burnt loaf. He knows to add the ingredients in equal measure, every condiment making up a perfect part of the ideal loaf. You could liken Folly Coker to the perfect chef. The Lagos state Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, certainly understands the intricacies and demands of his new role. Like the practiced chef, he knew what condiment to add and what to leave out in his epic pudding of feast and funfare as the ‘City of Excellence’ celebrated its One Lagos Fiesta (OLF).
Though the previous Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola, initiated different activities for the fiesta, especially the Lagos countdown during the Yuletide, the recent edition anchored by Coker under his principal, Governor Akinwumi Ambode, was unarguably the best of the its kind so far.
The event which held for five days in different parts of Lagos was a potpourri of excitingf musical and entertainment events that drew the party crowd from far and near. In order to add more flavour to the event, the innovative Folly Coker settled for a model that turned the entire Lagos State into one community.
In the course of the event, over 50 artistes including the Mavin crew, Olamide and Tuface Idibia performed live at the event which took place in Lagos Atlantic, Agege, Ikorodu, Badagry and Epe. The event was graced by millions of revelers from Lagos, other parts of the country and across the world.
Predictably, the well planned event has brought lots of commendation to the Commissioner. Governor Ambode was over the moon as he was stunned by the properly planned and well organised show put up by Folly Coker. He commended the commissioner and was seen at the event taking pictures with other dignitaries that were present at the Eko Atlantic.
