If the last few weeks had been turbulent, torrid and unforgiving for Tina, the second wife of Chief Leemon Ikpea, the billionaire chairman of Lee Engineering and Construction Company, the past few days have ushered in a new wave of awakening, peace and tranquillity. The beautiful mother of two was caught in the crossfire of the bitter separation of her husband from his first wife, Agnes, leading to an acrimonious gang up by the kids against Chief Lee. There was no unprintable name on earth they did not call her; from a side chic to a husband snatcher among others, Tina was buffeted right, left and centre. She cried bitterly and lost sleep for days as she was shred on social media with the prompting of her step-kids.
Interestingly, Tina has been married to Chief Lee for almost 20years and lives with him in his Banana Island mansion. A family source told this medium that the kids calling Tina names today benefitted from her motherly love and care despite that their mother was also in the house. “Tina is one of the most respectful, down-to-earth, accommodating and peace-loving women alive. Even as the apple of the chairman’s eyes, she never attempted to outshine the first wife. They cohabited peacefully and even if you listen to all that Agnes has said in her media interviews, she did not mention Tina’s name. What happened between chairman and Agnes has nothing to do with Tina and the kids know this but because they want the public to see her as the painted devil that she is not, they roped the innocent woman in,” said the source.
Described as fashionable and Godly, Tina has reportedly taken all that happened in her strides, believing that as time heals all wounds, she would heal from the hurt visited on her by her step kids. A few people who have seen her in the last couple of days say she is glowing again and that the winsome and heartfelt smiles have returned to her face. No more for her are endless wailing and sleepless nights. Perhaps, like the family source further told us, she may have found solace in the reaction of prominent and discerning Nigerians to the onslaught by the Ikpea kids.
Chief Ikpea had filed a divorce suit against Agnes with the Edo State High Court pronouncing last February that she should vacate the family’s Banana Island, Ikoyi, home while he should get her a decent accommodation in the Victoria Island, Lekki or anywhere convenient in Lagos outside of Banana Island. He has since complied with the court order by securing for her a well-appointed accommodation in Ikoyi
However, Agnes’ grown-up kids decided to do their father dirty by claiming that he forcefully ejected their mother from the house on the prompting of Tina and splashed pictures of the staged ejection in the media. Yet, this ‘ejection’ took place almost a month after the court pronouncement. They did not stop there. They also recorded their mother spewing, among other ignoble yarns that Chief Lee was heavily into voodoo practice. But wait a minute, why did it take her 39years of marriage to realise this? Does that mean she had enjoyed the voodoo money and attendant luxuries until Chief Ikpea saw the light? These are the questions, among others, that sensible Nigerians have been asking.
For the kids who are behind the media onslaught against their father, the preponderance of reaction is that bringing his name into disrepute as they have done is not only reprehensible, it skirts moral boundaries and has grave consequences for them.
