• Mischief makers describe Anselm Tabansi, Fahrenheit boss, as a mere front
While good news picks its way laggardly across the world, bad news leaps across the world’s remotest stretches at the speed of light. Little wonder, news the real owner of Fahrenheit is making its way across the social and political spaces, at alarming speed. If the rumours making the rounds are true, then Anselm Tabansi is a glorified puppet, a disposable mule on the leash of a masked boss.
Tabansi, it would be recalled, attained fame and glamour as the boss and brain behind the Fahrenheit Hospitality brand, the Fahrenheit Loft. But rumour has it that the celebrated hospitality entrepreneur and Onitsha-born father of four boys, simply fronts for former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) spokesperson, Olisa Metuh. The embattled politician who is currently facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over embezzlement of state funds, is allegedly the financier of the Fahrenheit Hospitality brand.
The brand, which includes two boutique hotels was until recently, thought to be the exclusive property of Tabansi. Whatever the truth is, mischief makers may sheathe their malice knowing it doesn’t matter what they think or allege; Tabansi and Metuh had always been best of friends and no manner of disparagement could sever the bond between the two bosom friends, master and mule, or whatever adjectives suit the rumour mongers’ classification of their relationship.
