As you read, the enfant terrible rumour monger has set his wile and dark arts on Babachir David Lawal. The Secretary General to the Government of the Federation (SGF) is currently at the receiving end of a hatefulrumour; mischief makers in the country’s political circuit are spreading news that his principal, President Muhammadu Buhari is unhappy with him.
According to the spiteful rumour, Lawal incurred the wrath of President Buhari immediately after he was appointed as the SGF; he reportedly held a thanksgiving ceremony where he continually sang the praises of All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Bola Tinubu. Lawal allegedly paid homage to Tinubu claiming that but for the APC national leader, he wouldn’t have been appointed by President Buhari.
According to the mischief makers, Lawal also made the president angry by the role he allegedly played during the last governorship election in Bayelsa State; the details, according to the rumour mill, are too sordid for President Buhari to bear and live with. A source in the presidency disclosed that, if not for the fact that Lawal’s appointment is still very fresh, President Buhari would have sacked him days ago.
However, in the wake of the malicious rumours, friends, aides and political associates if Lawal dismissed the uncomplimentary tales about him claiming that, he is a very decent and law-abiding gentleman. Whatever the truth is, Lawal probably has no cause for alarm.
