An ugly fight has broken out on X (twitter) between Sam Omatseye, the Editorial Board Chairman of The Nation Newspapers and the children of ex-Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
El-Rufai’s son, Bello, a serving federal lawmaker and Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Banking Regulations drew the first blood when he slammed Omatseye last week with a post describing the veteran columnist as a houseboy over an article he did against his father.
Bello said: “I left the office early to see him (his father) off at the airport. I just told him a lot of you do love him and have been supportive. I shared some tweets with him. We also laughed at a shameless idiot, Sam the houseboy at 70, of the Toilet Paper called The Nation.” …CONTINUE READING
Omatseye responded with a full article published in The Nation of July 15. Part of it reads: “A father is accused of stealing over N400 billion, the son goes to the toilet to defend him… So, if father is an accused thief, son is a liar. What a combo of family. Who is shameless if not a thief or a liar?”
This time, another son of El-Rufai, Bashir, stepped in with a trailer load of insults.
He said: “Your family is the shameless one, who are they? You are a common stooge sent to write terribly written articles. What the F are you? The man is here, he is defending himself, he has ignored you people, yet you still can’t stop shaking before going to sleep because he troubles you.”
Bello the lawmaker also added more: “If it is so, where were you when the useless idiot began throwing accusations at our name? If he tries it again, it’s nothing to make him cry again. And yes, it’s a toilet newspaper. Tell the idiot if he can’t stand a reaction, he shouldn’t start it. Nonsense.”
