The funfair and pageantry that greeted the opening one of Lagos Mainland rave night clubs, Rhapsody at the Ikeja Shopping Mall, spoke volume about the prominence that would later the lot of the fun spot. Truly, the club became an instant convergence of everything that was social and classy. The patronage was unprecedented in the annals of clubbing on Lagos Mainland, and in no time, the owners’ journey to the bank became more frequent than envisaged.
Less than two years down the line, the club is gradually become the shadow of its recently sane and classy self, as prostitutes have practically taken over the affairs and control of the club once patronized by the high and mighty.
From the entrance of the place you see them in their revealing and provocative outfits calling for their clients. The presence of these ladies is fast becoming a turn-off for most men who like to hang out at Rhapsody. These ladies at time walk up to men to ask if they could take their seat with seat with them to have a drink. Many of them are seen in the company of their friends checking out single men or group of men whom they walk up as soon as they are sighted on the staircase.
Rhapsody club at Ikeja City mall attracts its customers with its beautiful ambience and lovely services from its waiters and waitresses initially. Rhapsody was a place for relaxation and a place where you listen to good music and hang out with couple of friends. But these days the reverse is the case as people complain bitterly about the new trend. Unless the management curtails this ugly trend, the club may end up a den where prostitution and other moral crimes thrive in coming days.
