The newly appointed Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, has delayed the start of his his traditional rites, as he has traveled back to Canada for personal matters. The coronation is still on track for April 4.
After receiving the staff of office and certificate of appointment from Governor Seyi Makinde on January 13, Owoade was set to begin an important series of traditional rites leading up to his enthronement.
