A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Jesutega Onokpasa, has, during an interview on Politics Today, faulted the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, for saying that he put a call across to the former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, to make clarifications on his alleged involvement in money laundering; as the APC stalwart insisted that the anti-graft agency should have written to the former Governor instead.
Jesutega Onokpasa had said, “Why didn’t you ask him to show you the invitation, they did not invite him because they knew they were about to breach the law, and they didn’t want Yahaya Bello to have evidence of them breaching the law.
Then you call him on the phone, you are calling him on the phone to do what? If you want to invite me to come to your office, write me, what are you calling me for when I have a valid court judgment protecting me?”
