…Jim Nwobodo, other PDP members decamp to the party to seek soft landings
After being indicted in the ongoing arms deal investigation, the former Anambra state governor, Jim Nwobodo, has been in dearth of peace of mind as he desperately sort for soft landings from the currently administration having been alleged to have collected a whooping sum of N100m which he was asked to return by the EFCC. Thus, by way of avoiding further dig into the matter, he has taken the safest route by defecting to the APC camp as the party is now perceived as a safe haven for anyone who has been alleged to have stolen the state fund.
The former governor of the old Anambra state has however found a safe landing in his defection to the All Progressive Congress as he dumps PDP alongside a former Senator, Fidelis Okoro, and Richard Ozobu a PDP chieftain.
As speculation makes its way, many however are of the opinion that his defection to the opposition party which they once blackmailed and tongue lashed, is a way of running away from the president’s dig into the ongoing investigation of the N100m which he collected and allegedly said the fund was for his personal use, claiming that it was meant for the PDP leaders in the South East Zone to mobilize support for the re-election of the former president, Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 general election.
Jim Nwobodo and his other PDP members who defected to the APC were received yesterday by Jeffery Onyema, Minister of Foreign Affairs and were attended by Ben Nwoye and other state executive and APC’s national Vice chairman, Emma Enekwu.
