The eight-year feud between former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and his successor, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega still persists, DAILY INDEPENDENT has learnt.
Despite losing the governorship seat to Senator Ademola Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the two camps of Aregbesola and Oyetola still trade blames over the loss of the poll.

He alleged that Aregbesola camp undermined the second term choice of Oyetola. Akere noted that Oyetola is more than ready to reclaim the seat from Adeleke come 2026.
But in a swift reaction, Sola Fasure, an ally Aregbesola dismissed the claim of Akere describing it as untrue and nonsense.
Fasure declared that APC is already dead in the state.
Fasure noted that Akere’s claims is “nonsense” adding that Akere and other supporters of Oyetola are only seeking relevance and federal jobs by mentioning Aregbesola’s name.
“APC is dead in Osun,” Fasure declared. “If you say who is APC now, you will hear Akere, Kola Olabisi, and the party chairman, so there are only three of them remaining in APC in the state.”
Fasure accused Akere and others of using Oyetola as a tool to fight their personal battles and creating enemies for the former governor.
“They are the ones actually putting the former governor (Oyetola) into crisis because they always make enemies for him and they position themselves in such a way that they turn the former governor into a prisoner of power.”
Fasure’s reaction comes after Akere alleged that Aregbesola had worked against Oyetola’s re-election efforts and was using him to confront his estranged political mentor, President Bola Tinubu.
