Information reaching TheCapital is that President Buhamadu Buhari is likely to undertake a minor cabinet reshuffle before the end of March. It was gathered that the current minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, is likely to be replaced due to complaints from senior members of All Progressive Congress (APC), and members of President Buhari’s kitchen cabinet over what they termed Lia’s unprofessional information management.
Lai Muhammed has always been criticized in the the social media that he was given a sobriquet called ‘Liar Muhammed’. Top APC personalities are concerned that the name is not projecting the image of the present administration positively.
Party members also are no more happy about the classification of the government spokesman as a liar, putting a lot of premium on the integrity of government.
The idea to move him to another ministry where his voice will not be regularly heard is contemplated. Dr Kayode Feyemi who is current minister of Solid Minerals is speculated to take over the information ministry. He was regarded in APC circles as being very suave, like able and diplomatic person whose amiable nature is expected to resonate with the public as well as the media.
