One of the 219 schoolgirls kidnapped from Government Secondary School, Chibok in Borno state, has been found.
Tunji Olarenwaju, a member of the strategic team of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement, told TheCable on Wednesday, that members of the civilian joint task force (CJTF), a local vigilante outfit, found the girl identified as Amina Nkeki in Sambisa forest.
He said the chairman of the parents of the kidnapped Chibok girls confirmed this to members of the BBOG on Wednesday.
“The abducted Chibok girl, Nkeki, from Mbalala, a community in Chibok,was found in Kulakaisa area at the fringes of Sambisa forest by vigilantes from Chibok on patrol on Tuesday,” he said.
A total of 276 girls were abducted on April 14, 2014, while 57 managed to escape, the remaining have been in captivity.
Nkeki is the first Chibok girl to be rescued.
Shortly after their abduction, Abubakar Shekau, leader of the sect, released a video saying they had been married off.
