In an emotional statement, Pa Tajudeen expressed his grief, saying, “The death that killed Taoreed Lagbaja ought to take me, his father’s younger brother… His death is so shocking to us.” He described Lagbaja as a community-minded person who contributed significantly, including constructing boreholes for his hometown.
A family member, Madam Toyin, alleged that Lagbaja’s death was caused diabolically due to a lingering land dispute within the community, a matter that had drawn tension when the Nigerian Army proposed establishing a hospital in the area in 2023. Despite the heartbreak, the family remains grateful for his life and contributions.
