A rose is sweeter in the bud than full bloom, according to John Lyly, a late English writer. However, Lyly got it all wrong, as some roses retain their sweetness through the odds and even grow on to become prettier than a bunch of budding, fragrant roses. Such unassailable beauty is epitomized by Uchechi, wife of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu. Uchechi who recently came back from the UK where she’s been living since her husband’s travails, was the most breathtaking attractions on the blogosphere when her pictures and husband surfaced on the social media. Decked in a resplendent elegant apparel, she became the cynosure of all eyes with her graceful sublimity and elan and she did not have to force it.
Power and affluence has changed Uchechi for the better, no doubt. No more is she the shy woman next door as she has successfully shed the apparel of reserve and inhibitions to don the toga of full blown and unapologetic celebrity culture. She appears to have stirred from obscurity to her new status as celebrity. Being wife to a political titan indeed has its perks. During the trial of Kanu, Uchechi would rather take her case to God Almighty and seek his miraculous intervention that her husband might not be killed in the prison unjustifiably.
Thankfully, Kanu has been released. They have been locking lips. Even when they go to any function, she is always cosying up to Kanu, tweaking his fingers and shutting her ears, without fuss, to the side talks.
