• One year after her second husband’s demise, her son is set to marry
A colourful rainbow of joy and affection predominates the world of Fatima Wali as you read. Great thanks to patronising fate, the high society juggernaut is joyous again. And the reason is not far-fetched; her first son, Luqman Edu from her marriage to Yomi Edu, is set to marry his heartthrob, Zainab Yahaya in Lagos.
It promises to be a high-octane event as gigh society socialites are planning seriously to storm the wedding. This is because Fatima is one of them. Fatima, who used to be married to Yomi Edu withdrew into her shell after their marriage crashed irredeemably.
In a second attempt at wedlock, she married Major-General Suraj Abdurrahman years ago but she lost her husband last year. Major-General Abdurrahman, a former Commander-In-Charge of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), died a year ago, precisely January 28, 2015, in New York, United States of America (USA). Fatima was predictably heartbroken and sad.
But today, she has cause to rejoice and look upon the future with hope as her son’s impending wedlock promises to accord her immeasurable benefits including a chance to become a mother-in-law and grandmother. Fatima is enthusiastic about the likely positive change in her status in the wake of her son’s marriage.
