Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is probably too old to cry but he is definitely not too old to sulk and throw tantrums, in the imagination of his apologists and detractors. The national leader of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), is in the news again and this time around, the news making round is that, he is having a rough time dealing with rejection from President Muhammadu Buhari. Tinubu is reportedly unhappy about the president’s refusal to appoint his preferred candidates as ministers. This, according to sources within the APC and the presidency served as a rude shock to the APC leader who felt seriously undermined and humiliated by Mr. President’s rejection of his candidates.
Consequently, Tinubu stayed away from the inauguration of the ministers and instead travelled to Kaduna to attend a less significant event. Rumour has it that Tinubu is particularly miffed over Babatunde Fashola’s appointment but sources close to the duo revealed that such allegation is unfounded as both Fashola and Tinubu have moved past the political intrigues that set them at loggerheads in the past. Fashola allegedly paid Tinubu a visit soon after his inauguration and he reportedly spent the night over at his former godfather’s Abuja residence.
