Micheal Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy is a year older today. The multiple award winner, who came into lime light in 2004 by producing “Tongolo” which became an instant hit has not had it bad since his breakthrough into the music world.
The Abia born musical icon is best known for his diligence and humility in the music industry. His generosity is well known as he is got a “big heart” to help the needy in the society. He is ever ready to work with any artiste and believes in helping the upcoming artiste. He once revealed in a recent interview:
“I have people that need to be successful. I am happy bringing up people from now till I die”
The legendary producer has produced several award winning songs for so many artist starting from D’banj, Dr SID, Wande Coal, D’Prince Tiwa Savage. Don Jazzy has also produced for other artist outside his label, Olamide, Iyanya, Naeto C, Darey art, Ikechukwu, Olakunle Excel et Zanga and the current Mavin Records dynasty which he is the boss.
He has as well produced smashing hits for his new MAVIN RECORDS artist such as Korede Bello, Reekado Banks, Di’Ja.
Don Jazzy co-produced popular international and award winners the Jay-Z and Kanye West on the song “Lift Off” Beyoncé and on the said album “Watch The Throne” as was released on the 8th day of August, the year 2011.
His dexterity in music can be heard through his vocals and beat. He has received many recognitions and awards both home and abroad. He won the producer of the year at the Nigeria Music Awards, in 2006, Nigeria Entertainment Awards in 2007, Producer of the Year in 2011 and 2014, just to mention but a few. Forbes recently listed him as the 39th Most Influential Celebrity in Africa.
