• Intrigues as President Buhari prepares to rid cabinet of dead weight
Like the proverbial empty vessels, they made the loudest noise as members of President Muhammadu Buhari kitchen cabinet. They promised to be diligent and exceptional. Some of them vowed to build bridges even where there were no rivers. But promises are like pie crust, made to be broken. As you read, some of President Buhari’s ministers have been found wanting and too incompetent for the portfolios entrusted to them at their appointment.
Consequently, the president is not too happy with them. Findings revealed that as a result of their inability to deliver and meet specified targets in their respective roles, some of Buhari’s ministers would be sacked in January 2017. Rather than fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to them, the affected ministers have been busy playing dirty politics and sticking their noses where their attention isn’t needed. And in desperate bid to keep their jobs, they act like stooges and ordinary parlour dogs to the president. Sadly, the electorate are yet to feel their impact in their respective ministries.
This is why President Buhari told the Senate that he would remove some ministers in January and replace them with fresh faces.
