To the pastorates of Christ Embassy church, the kingdom of God is for the rich or anyone who can afford the N1000 gate fee for the annual cross over night in the church in Oregun area of Lagos state. This step by the church totally negates the message of costless salvation Jesus Christ died for on the cross of Calvary.
Some worshippers of the church who were turned back last year because they could not afford to pay the sum just because they wanted to worship the God that saw them through the years, had challenged the unChristlike idea of charging money to worship in a church.
Despite the call for the abolition of this policy by the church’s administration, it seems they are not ready to yield to the worshippers demand as the same fee is going to be charged at the cross over service which holds tonight.
While responding to the criticisms, the church excused that the reason they charge entrance fee for the pass over night is to control the crowd because people always troop in en mass for the cross over night.
But Jesus never restricted people from attending his teachings when he was on earth; in fact, he was so compassionate about them that he fed them with bread and fish.
