Cross River State Governor, Benedict Ayade, has appointed ace Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, as the Special Adviser, Liaison, Lagos.
Ayade who made several appointments into key agencies and boards, approved the appointment of the veteran actress on Wednesday.
The screen diva was appointed almost a year after losing out in the primaries of People’s Democratic Party to represent Calabar South. Many Nigerians believe the appointment was a compensation for her loss in the last election.
Thousands of her fans took to the social media to express their joy and congratulate her on her new height.
The thespian who has been acting for over 21 years and has featured in over 260 Nollywood movies have received numerous awards including AMAA’s best actress in 2008 is undeniably good at what she does. She is arguably one of the most talented Nollywood actresses.
However, some of her fans are been skeptical about her acting career; they fear that her new appointment might jeopardize her acting because recently, Desmond Elliot, who also is into politics, announced that he will be taking a break from the movie industry so as to enable him concentrate on his political career.
The screen diva is a passionate advocate of sexual violence against women and children and strongly believes in empowerment of youth and children.
