*Second Wedding To Hold In Nigeria By December
Individuals marry, and not races. This best sums up the union of media mogul, John Momoh’s son, Oluwatobi and his Russian bride, Elizaveta, at Lake Como, in faraway Italy.
Yet before there was a wedding, there was passion. Love found Oluwatobi and Elizaveta in common hours. The story of their union would be incomplete without mentioning at least their symbolic worth to each other.
As they tied the nuptial knots in the Italian commune, passion flared in their perfervid vows and tender gaze at each other.
In Oluwatobi’s eyes, Elizaveta was the musk rose opening unattended, the fern on love’s boggy summit. To Elizaveta, Oluwatobi was the patient gardener of her luxuriant garden; he was the unanticipated caller who became a resident dweller in her heart. Together, they forged the stone step, the latch, and the working hinge of their wonderful union. It was a no-brainer that they would get married.
There is no gainsaying the Momoh family spared no expense in making Oluwatobi’s wedding a destination shindig; some have called it the granddaddy of all wedding ceremonies in 2023.
That John Momoh and his wife, Sola, have sired between them, a flawless Adonis, is an open secret. Their son, Oluwatobi ‘s innate and visual aspects made him the man of several women’s dreams until he gave his heart to Elizaveta.
There is no gainsaying that the couple presented a sight for sore eyes at their wedding party on October 7, 2023. It was touching to see Elizaveta cling to her husband as they posed for photographs in their ornate wedding arena.
In the pictures, Oluwatobi could be seen grinning from ear to ear with undisguised pride over the eye candy he had just taken as his bride.
Together, they cut a perfect portrait of a fulfilled couple glowing in the magnificence of their innate and expressed joys.
Both hailing from separate parts of the world, their cultural backgrounds and traditions added a special touch to their wedding. The Momoh’s Russian inlaws would find that while African weddings are known for their vibrant colours, lively atmosphere, and unmatched energy, getting married to a Nigerian takes things to another level.
Despite their diverse culture, their weddings serve as a unifying custom, bringing together their families, friends, business associates and well-wishers in a communal celebration.
First, there was the big proposal, the bride’s acceptance and the Momoh’s lively but very exclusive invitation to carefully selected guests. For their wedding, Oluwatobi and Elizaveta chose the breathtaking Lake Como, Italy, as their venue because they desired a location that was not only beautiful but also easily accessible from Nigeria and other parts of the world. The picturesque setting on the shores of Lake Como, surrounded by rolling hills and lush forests, made it a perfect blend of luxury and beauty.
Lake Como is one of the favourite lakes among foreign couples for destination weddings in Europe. It’s located in the North of Italy, close to the Alps, and thanks to its unique, romantic landscape and mild climate during summer, it offered dramatic settings for the Momohs’ luxury wedding.
The latter no doubt exploited the venue’s eclectic mix of luxurious, unique, chic and rustic styles tailoring it to suit their special day
The dignitaries, including top bankers, politicians, and celebrities, that graced the wedding, found Lake Como a perfect destination for a brief getaway and shindig. Although some of them had visited the region in the recent past to grace a wedding or hold their own wedding, they still found the wonderful aspects of Lake Como including its juxtaposition of breathtaking scenery a perfect sight for sore eyes.
From five-star lakeside hotels and historic villas to local albergos and trattorias that are off the beaten track, the Momohs chose Lake Como for its ease of combining contrasting locations either on the wedding day or over the course of a wedding weekend.
And the guests were certainly not disappointed. The wedding and the location offered all and sundry a ceremony spot, a lake cruise, and a stunning reception and party setting; all these culminated in a truly unique and unforgettable experience.
At the Momohs’ wedding, everything was programmed and primed to affect cultured sophistication. The floral design was exquisite and captivating. The decor was centered around an abundance of white and coloured blooms, which were meticulously arranged thus transforming the wedding venue into a lush garden with towering white floral arches and a profusion of flowers everywhere you looked.
Elizaveta’s bridal appearance was truly breathtaking, and every detail was expertly crafted to ensure that she looked radiant on her big day. While her bridal clothier worked with her to create an attractive bridal look, they also struck the perfect balance with her make-up, using a subtle yet striking combination that added a touch of radiance and charm to her overall look. The groom, on his part, looked dashing and trim. Both the bride and bridegroom looked gorgeous in their well-chosen and crafted ceremonial ensemble.
The reception was lively and resplendent with colours; the speakers blared soft, enjoyable music that caused a few guests to rock gently in their seats while some rose to their feet to dance and make merry with the couple.
For some, it was the atmosphere of the wedding venue, for others it was the delightful music and cuisine that made the occasion wonderful and unforgettable. The ambience was alluring and borne of pure joy, with the stunningly beautiful guests and the newlyweds at the centre of it all.
