Like an ancient mariner whose heartbeat dwarfs echoes of his incredible exploits, Bosun Oredola, commands the awe of many of his peers and admirers in Nigeria’s socio-political and business sector. Yes, as far as business ideas and innovations are concerned, billionaire businessman, Bosun Oredola, turns nothing down, except the collar of his shirt. Bosun is a man accustomed to honourable pursuits and because he is immensely endowed with towering intelligence, depth of character and a prepossessing personality, parlaying influence into affluence comes naturally to him.
Bosun has got contacts and clout within and outside the shores of Nigeria as well as a generous dose of resourcefulness too, which makes him the delight of people in power and authority. He is affable and accessible yet, modest and obliging. Contrary to insinuations from mischief makers that he is living la vida loca now because of a contract he just got from the Lagos State government, money is not, and for the past few decades, never been the problem for the wealthy urbane man behind Globalbridge Projects Limited, a foremost indigenous construction company whose imprimatur can be seen on many federal and state government infrastructural projects.
He has been a certified billionaire before his foray into oil and gas or before he got acquainted with the former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Allison-Madueke. Just that while many hug the attendant fame of being a billionaire, Bosun deliberately shies away from it. He prefers to go about his business and life anonymously. Even at parties, he maintains a low profile. Yet, he lives and loves the good life.
Those who have been to his Banana Island home describe it as opulently elegant. Nestling in his garage, we also heard, are different colours and models of his preferred automobile, the Rolls Royce. Don’t begrudge him; he is married to a pleasantly beautiful woman, Yinka, one of Nigeria’s most successful pharmacists and founder of Megacare Group, which imports, distributes, manufactures and markets healthcare, pharmaceutical and medical products in Nigeria, Africa and global markets. Yes, they are in love with each other. Bosun doesn’t take her love for for granted!
In spite of his wealth, Bosun doesn’t joke with his wife and mum. He is reported to adore every strand of hair on Olayinka and would go to the end of the world to protect her and what they have. When they are not together, Bosun goes about his businesses diligently and is known for hands-on, round-the-clock supervision of whatever project his company is handling. For his mum, she is his earthly god. The old woman turned 70 recently and Bosun pulled all the stops and spared no expense to celebrate her. Little wonder all the funny stories flying around about this dark-hued man not only beggars belief, but skirts moral boundaries.
He takes his job seriously and doesn’t have time for frivolities. So mischief makers should be.
