Death has bared its vicious fangs again. This time, it crept into the home of the Tinubus, and snatched one of his beloved sons, Deji Tinubu. Thecapitalng sources say Deji, who was the former Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, died late on Thursday during a novelty match in the Epe area of Lagos State.
Lagos State Executive members and other top government functionaries are in Epe for a retreat. It was gathered that Tinubu slumped in the field and was confirmed dead at a hospital in Epe.
Deji was the son of the late Chief Kafaru Oluwole Tinubu and the younger brother of Wale Tinubu, Oando CEO. He was also the nephew of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Tinubu was formerly Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Commission and Special Adviser on Sports.
He was recently removed and appointed SA in the Office of the Governor. He is survived by his wife, Yemisi(née Majekodunmi), children, his mother, Chief Bintu Fatima Tinubu, the Iyalode of Lagos and many siblings.
Were an outpouring of attributes, eulogies and tears potent enough to rouse a dead man, Deji would have reconsidered spending a few more days before plunging into his eternal sleep. But as family and friends converged at his family house this early morning for a condolence visit, affirming, albeit sadly, the young and fun-loving dude who straddled the Lagos social milieu for a long time would never resurrect for a brief parting repartee. Sad!
