Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has urged the All Progressives Congress to stop blabbing and focus more on governance.
Mimiko gave the piece of advice in Akure during the South-West congress of the Peoples Democratic Party, on Saturday. He said the APC would have realised that rhetoric was a different ball game from real governance.
Mimiko said the future of the country was in the hands of the PDP.
He, however, urged various factions within the party to be united.
Mimiko said, “The PDP has a bright future in this country, but our actions and inactions will determine the future of our party. We must, therefore, stand for integrity as a party with a history of integrity and progressivism.
“The truth, which we stand for, will vindicate us in the South-West PDP. Governor Ayo Fayose and I are working for the progress of the party in the South-West and we shall continue to do that. The way we stand up for the truth will determine the future of our party.”
Mimiko, who called for the implementation of the 2014 National Conference report, said that anything short of true federalism would not augur well for the country.
Arguing that the deregulation of the oil sector would only add to the hardship in the country, Mimiko said it was time to adopt true federalism.
“All the challenges confronting us as a nation can be solved only if we practise true federalism,” Mimiko said.
The governor urged the Federal Government to stop the arbitrary supply of electricity in the country.
He also condemned what he described as arbitrary billing system by electricity distribution companies and urged the Federal Government to address it.
