Subsequent to the inauguration and commencement of the Lagos State Mobile Court today, Monday, 8th, the President of Theatre Art and Motion Picture Practitioner Association of Nigeria, TAMPPAN, Mr. Omo’oba Dele Odule has commended the efforts of the Lagos state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode for his effort to bring law, order, as well as safety to roads in Lagos State.
During a seminar in Lagos over the weekend, TAMPPAN President urged all Lagosians to strictly adhere to the traffic rule and regulation and avoid plying on prohibited routes.
According to him, “Our association stands with the Lagos State government on the steps taken to bring sanity to the roads”.
Mr. Odule further stated that the introduction of mobile courts is a welcome development that will at the long run curb senseless waste of lives due to avoidable accidents which have become a minute by minute occurrence in the past few years.
He commended Governor Ambode for placing priority on human lives in the state, Odule also advise the state government to intensify efforts on other areas that will be of immense benefit to Lagosians and visitors.
He highlighted some of the traffic contravention that could lead to heavy fine, forfeiture of vehicles and various jail terms, they include driving against traffic, riding of motorcycle on median or road setbacks, smoking while driving and driving without valid driver’s license.
The president of the association however enjoined other states to emulate Lagos State by introducing efficient traffic laws and mobile courts to change citizens’ psyches against activities inimical to the safety of all.
