Oluwaseni Saraki is the first son of Senator Oluwabukola Saraki, the senate president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and two term governor of Kwara state. Seni is a lawyer by profession and also a budding rapper who has flair for music despite being a trained lawyer.
Seni Saraki, who is in his early twenties, recently finished from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus, and was recently named the Chairman of the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club (ABS FC). The team, which is owned by his influential father, is based in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, is part of the Nigeria National League (NNL).
It was recently gathered that Seni has decided to walk in his father’s footsteps after so much persuasion from his father and was allegedly presented by his father early last year to run for the seat of House of Reps. It is believed that his father is secretly nursing the ambition of making him the youngest governor in the history of Nigeria. Contesting for the seat of House of Rep would have been a way to prepare him for the bigger role of being a governor. But Seni was rejected by the ruling party, APC, because he was too young for the role. Also, many objected the move because they believe he was being imposed on them thus they felt they could not serve grandfather, son and grandson, going with the fact that Olusola Saraki imposed Bukola Saraki on then.
The Saraki dynasty has time immemorial being ruling Kwara state and have established wide acceptability in the region. Olusola Saraki was the Senate leader in the second republic and was very influential in the creation of Kwara state. He won the hearts of many and some practically worshipped him. According to a report, every governor, ever since the creation of Kwara state, have been largely influence by Olusola Saraki. In 2003, Olusola Saraki’s son Bukola Saraki, became the governor of Kwara state and ruled for eight years before proceeding to be a senator.
However, Senator Bukola Saraki has chosen to ignore the words of the Elders’ thereby still going on with his plan of presenting his son to contest for the governor of the state in 2019 after he was rejected for contesting for the seat of House of Rep.
Seni who was based in the UK, has recently relocated to the country so as to enable him learn the act of politics. He was recently spotted at one of the biggest malls in Kwara state doing charity work by paying for other people’s purchase which a lot of people believed to be a publicity stunt pulled by his father to create awareness for the young lad.
