Former Rivers State governor and current Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has explained why he supported President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the most recent presidential election and the warnings he received. In a video published by SYMFONI TV.
Wike lashed out at his critics and reiterated his unwavering election-related decisions while speaking at the Ahoada East and West PDP end-of-year Thanksgiving celebration in Rivers State.

They warned him that he would be subject to harsh repercussions, such as being detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and maybe imprisoned, should the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) win. Wike claimed, however, that he stayed steadfast because he thought it was important to act in his people’s best interests.
“You’re hearing all this plot, don’t you know what God’s plot is?” Wike enquired. My conscience forbids me from standing by you. I shall stand by Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu regardless of the repercussions. You may identify guys of character in this way. He stated unequivocally that he made his decision in order to prevent his people from being treated like second-class citizens.
Wike made it clear that he had no regrets or apologies for his choice and that he would do it again if given the chance. “He’s not a man you will see at night, and in the afternoon, it is a different thing,” the outspoken lawmaker added, emphasising the value of consistency and integrity.
Wike’s audacious comments demonstrate his position on loyalty, leadership, and sticking up for his convictions.
