TheNews reports that the actor known for his role in the ‘Village Headmaster’ died yesterday in home in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Jab Adu, a trained banker, worked with the Central Bank of Nigeria until 1970 when he quit the job and took up acting full time. He rose to fame as ‘Bassey Okon’ in the Nigerian Television Authority drama series, ‘The Village Headmaster’. He is also credited as the producer of “Bisi, Daughter of the River” and “Adio’s Family”. Jabu is also well remembered for his role as Lagbayi in popular Tunde Kelani’s movie, Saworo’ide
Lately, the thespian reportedly suffered health issues before passing on yesterday.
He was 83.
