· Artiste dupes his fans by selling them fake VVIP tables, subjects them to stampede
· He seemed to be on drugs – Eyewitness
As the rabid-tongued stews in self-wrought misfortune, so does Wizkid (Ayodeji Balogun) simmer in a cauldron of hot broth. The condiments are his oversized ego and penchant to self-destruct. In the wake of his infamous street brawl with arch rival, Davido (David Adeleke), at the One Africa Concert in Dubai, Wizkid has committed yet another unpardonable gaffe at his Christmas eve show in Lagos.
After selling tickets for the much publicized show at the following outrageous price range: popular seat, N5, 000; VIP, N25, 000; and VVIP tables ranging from N1 million to N3 million, the Ojuelegba crooner treated his VVIP fans to a rude shock.
Even though he arrived very late, starting a show that was billed to commence at 8pm about four hours later, an obviously wasted Wizkid sauntered on to the stage and ordered fans on the popular side to cross over to the VVIP area.
Apparently rattled, fans occupying the VVIP area protested the artiste’s betrayal and disregard for their patronage; many of them protested that they paid millions of naira to occupy the VVIP seats but Wizkid turned deaf ears to their protests and instead ordered fans on the N5, 000 seats to march across the N3million tables and seats to the front of the stage.
Predictably, fans on the popular side were very happy and they gleefully marched on the VVIP tables which had the likes of Tunde Fowler, former Lagos tax boss and incumbent Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) on seat.
Fowler and his VVIP peers watched in dismay and undisguised horror as their tables and drinks were trampled upon by fans rushing from the popular seats to the VVIP arena.
Several VVIP occupants were forced to quit their seats and tables.
The artiste was visibly wasted; he looked like he was very high on drugs thus it was useless engaging him, according to several witnesses to his shameful conduct.
This is not the first time Wizkid would be involved in a public show of shame this year; it would be recalled that he led his crew to exchange blows with the crew of music archrival, Davido, recently in Dubai, in a supremacy tussle.
