Senator Ben Bruce loves to talk but when he does, it always skirts moral and ethical pavements, leaving many to wonder how lowly he has sunk since he became Senator. Bruce has become more popular for some of his unguarded tirades against the government and everybody that crosses his path which is why he has been a serial victim of misinterpretation. Not surprisingly, Alariwo of Africa must feel like conceding his title to him.
However, it is obvious that Ben Bruce is out for all his colleagues as well as the appointed ministers. In his latest controversial twitter reply to Senator Buruji Kashamu who tweeted, “Germany to support Nigeria on terrorism, anti-corruption”. Ben Bruce immediately took a swipe at Kashamu as he quoted his tweet saying, “See my colleague senate who is supposed to be in jail talking. #smh# PDPHouseOfHunger.
Curiously, however, nothing can be more unmusical, more disconcerting and uncouth than having a bona fide illiterate dole laws unto his more cultivated peers. Therefore, if truly, Senator Kashamu Buruji of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), can neither read nor write; if truly he lacks the ability to articulate reason and express himself in the language of the hallowed chambers of Nigeria’s upper legislative chamber, then he lacks the finer aspects of manhood and citizenship required to be part of the nation’s Eighth National Assembly.
The senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District has been in the news for the wrong reasons.
However, nothing could be more shameful to the embattled senator and his loyalists than his inability to participate convincingly during senate sessions. Buruji’s apathy to the process has been attributed to his illiteracy and lack of confidence in his abilities as a legislator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Pundits alleged that he keeps quiet during senate sessions because he lacks the requisite academic qualifications and ideological constitution to make meaningful and progressive inputs to the discourse.
