Breaking!!! Mo Abudu To Chair Emmy Awards Gala

Celebrated television personality and CEO of Ebony Life TV, Mo Abudu, has been appointed tochair the 47th International Emmy Awards Gala that celebrates extraordinary television producers from all over the globe. The announcement was made on the verified Instagram page of the EMMYs; @iemmys, this afternoon.

The awards gala holds at the Hilton Hotel, New York City, November 25. Described as the Oscar Awards for television, each year, the leading television producers from around the world showcase their programming and compete to be recognized at the prestigious International Emmy Awards Gala in New York City. Over 1, 000 international broadcasting, production and distribution executives convene to celebrate the best in global television.

Responding to her appointment, Abudu states, “I would like to thank the International Emmy Awards for this honour and opportunity…As producers, we are in a unique position to share fresh, authentic, and original stories with a global audience. Our content is not limited by language or culture. Viewers want to see stories that reflect their everyday lives—which can be found everywhere.” She adds, “At EbonyLife, we believe in changing the global African narrative. As a Nigerian television producer, I am honored to chair the 47th International Emmy Awards and be part of an organization that celebrates extraordinary television producers from all over the globe.”

Last December, Abudu was elected a director of International Academy of Television, Arts & Sciences, the organization responsible for staging the Emmy Awards, which she described then as an enabler for the recognition of her and other Nigerians’ work in TV and film across the globe. She stated then thatas a member of the board, she joins a select group of about 100 Directors who are international executives from leading channels, production and distribution companies to attend board and members’ meetings three or four times a year.
