The Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti State, Segun Akinwumi, has resigned from his position.

Naija News reports that Akinwumi announced his decision in a letter addressed to the state chairman of the party, stating that his resignation was based on personal reasons.

In the letter, which surfaced on Sunday, the ADC chieftain appreciated the opportunity given to him to serve the party in the capacity of state secretary.

He expressed gratitude to the leadership of the party for the confidence and trust reposed in him during his tenure.

Akinwumi also stated that his resignation takes immediate effect.

While announcing his departure, the former secretary thanked party leaders and members for their support during the period he served the party.

He said he remained grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the development of the ADC in the state.

Akinwumi also indicated his willingness to render service again if called upon in the future.

Despite stepping down from his position, Akinwumi urged members of the party to remain united.

He called on party supporters to work together toward the success of the ADC candidate in the forthcoming Ekiti State governorship election.
