Alariwo of the Senate! The shameful deceit of Ben Murray-Bruce

Senator Ben Bruce loves to talk but when he does, he always skirts moral and ethical pavements, leaving many to wonder how lowly he has sunk since he became Senator. Bruce has become more popular for some of his unguarded tirades against the government and everybody that crosses his path which is why he has been a serial victim of misinterpretation. Not surprisingly, Alariwo of Africa must feel like conceding his title to him.
Gone are the days when you deceive boys with toys and men with oaths but Ben Murray-Bruce, Silverbird Television boss and Nigerian senator seem ignorant of this fact. Senator Ben does not match action to his words and having persistently failed to live up to his words, he has attained the status of an incurable narcissist whose lust for acclaim clearly overwhelms his self-professed humaneness, honesty and altruistic spirit.
Despite his clamour for change and accountability in governance, one cannot help but wonder why the Ibom Tropicana Entertainment Centre was taken away from him. It would be recalled that Senator Ben’s Silverbird Group was initially contracted to build the state-of-the-art tourist centre in Uyo, Akwa Ibom by the former governor of the state, Godswill Akpabio, and for that purpose, he was fully paid. However, it’s a shame to note that Senator Ben has failed woefully to measure up to expectation in fulfilling the demands of the contract. Of the facilities proposed, only the Cineplex and the shopping complex were completed by him.
The International conference and hotels were not completed before the project was withdrawn from him and given to another contractor. The state of Akwa Ibom  still smarts from the inconveniences inflicted on the government and the state by Senator Ben’s abandonment of the project.
Recently, Senator Ben was severally condemned and widely ridiculed on the social media and in other media as the public established him as a liar in separate instances. Senator Bruce, rather than live up to his pledge to donate his salary and allowances to the masses, did an about turn and refused to honour his pledge; in another incident, he lied that he had never traveled “First Class” in a commercial flight but the public caught him in the lie and circulated pictures of him in a “First Class” aircraft cabin on the social media. This is no doubt a sad commentary on the reputation of the Silverbird TV boss and senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Bruce representing Bayelsa East constituency, in Bayelsa State, has suffered some bashing on Twitter over comments he passed on Babatunde Fashola, former Lagos state governor who was sworn in as the Minister for Power, Roads and Housing as well as those on former Rivers governor, Rotimi Amaechi who was assigned the ministry of Transport.
Reacting to their appointment on Twitter, Bruce wrote: “Congrats to @Gov_Rajifashola. Lets #Challengeourminister of power to confirm he wont use generator so he’ll feel what Nigerians are feeling.”
“Congrats to @ChibuikeAmaechi. Lets #Challengeourminister of transport to confirm he will use various public transport at least once a month.”
