Nobody makes a fine corpse. But Dr. Emmanuel Abiodun did. Even in death, the patriarch of the Abiodun dynasty cut a perfect portrait of comeliness and humanity at its finest. Like the lucent carnation amid a bouquet of flowers, he exuded enviable humaneness in his lifetime and inspires bittersweet devotion even in his wake.

Pa Emmanuel, who passed on after a brief illness, penultimate Monday, at the age of 89, remains one of the greatest figures of hope, wealth, and leadership for his son and Ogun governor, Dapo Abiodun, the people of Ogun State and Nigeria as a nation.

The remains of the deceased patriarch was received at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) as it arrived from London, United Kingdom (UK) last night by Governor Abiodun, and other members of his clan.

The event attracted the crème of Governor Abiodun’s closest circuit of friends and relatives and the country’s high society, who trooped out to honour a man who taught them to live for the good of others and expend their wealth for the sake of humanity.

Pa Emmanuel would no doubt, turn in his grave in appreciation of the honourable reception he received from his loved ones, especially his super son, DA.
