Malam Dahiru Shekarau, an elder brother to former Governor of Kano State, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, is dead.

He died on Tuesday at a private hospital in Kano, after a prolonged illness.

The deceased was a Permanent Secretary in the Kano State Civil Service.

During his years of service, he worked in various capacities across different ministries in the state and rose through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Science and Technology.

He retired from active service in 2015 after reaching the peak of his civil service career.

The funeral prayer for the late Shekarau will hold at Giginyu Jumu’at Mosque in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano on Wednesday.

Family members, associates and sympathisers are expected to attend the Janazah prayer to pay their last respects
