The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Labour Party has declared that Peter Obi is no longer the sole presidential candidate for the 2027 election.

The decision was made during a critical meeting at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday.

The NEC declared that Obi, who was the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, can now contest for the position if he chooses to do so. …CONTINUE READING

POLITICS NIGERIA understands that the move effectively opens up the presidential ticket to other interested party members.

Similarly, the Abia State Governorship ticket, previously reserved for Alex Otti, is now up for grabs.

The decision comes as a reaction to the Labour Party Stakeholders meeting convened by Governor Otti and Obi in Umuahia, the Abia state capital.
