· Why Ocean Marine Chairman Excites The Awe Of Global Leaders

It is often more convenient to possess the ashes of great men than to possess the men themselves in their lifetime. But in Capt. Hosa Okunbo’s case, the reality is remarkably different; Nigeria is extremely lucky to possess Dr. Okunbo. This is because the Chairman of Ocean Marine elevates entrepreneurship to an art form, for the benefit of the country.

The excellence of his art however, lies in its intensity; he is specially gifted at taming the odds and making all disagreeable evaporate like mountain dew on grains of sand. And he does not have to force it; he simply faces challenges with courage, matchless equanimity  and devotion to beauty and truth.

Predictably, his ascent to the top was never a walk in the park. It required paying his dues and shunning the frivolous. Hence you would never find Okunbo concentrating on anything beyond business and philanthropy.

So committed is he to industry that so many observers believe that with his regular presence at high profile international business fora, and the recognition he receives, Okunbo is fast becoming the most influential business ambassador for the country.

This is why he is perpetually on song, among his clan and league of extraordinary men. He emerges as the perfect symbol of business excellence seen at home and abroad as a historic figure, the personification of a business calculus within Nigeria and the African continent.

However, at the prestigious Omnia Strategy cocktail reception for all their worldwide clients and associates, at the Connaught Hotel, Mayfair, London, Captain Hosa Okunbo was  one of the prominent guests. Dressed in sharp suit, he was understandably conspicuous at the event as he had enough time to chit-chat with other international businessmen. Interestingly, Dr. Okunbo was with the former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair and his beautiful, Lady Cherie Blair, throughout the high-octane event.

And even though they come from two different cultures of economics and socio-politics, Tony and Okunbo, projected a wonderful medley of industry and excellence as they met. Hosa and the Blairs during the dinner, cut an enthralling picture as they laughed and enjoyed the merriments of the evening.
