Modupe Oreoluwa Oyeyemi popularly known as Mocheeda became popular in the music scene of Nigeria in 2009. After dropping some singles, she released her debut album ‘Franchise Celebrity’ the following year.

Within a twinkle of an eye, the petite pop star became the rave of the moment at the age of 18. Her music became known home and abroad and her songs were nominated for different awards internationally. Between 2009 and 2012, she became the youngest Nigerian to win an MTV African Music Award and Channel O Music Video Award.

In February 2012 she left Knight House to set up her own record label, Cheddah Music. Since then, Mo’Cheddah has released a series of singles that have reminded the public that she still sings but not enough to push her career to the front linesit used to be.

The petite singer, who went out of circulation for many months after her unclad pictures surfaced online, is using different strategies to register her presence back in the music industry.

Aside the fact that she has decided to make use of her social media page, Instgram to debut a forceful come by her dressings, findings revealed that she has made herself available for image making publicities, and have appeared in numerous events in recent times just to remain relevant.

While Mo’ Cheddah is still plotting her way to the heights she reached in 2009 and 2010,
some school of thought were of the opinion that Mocheedah parting ways with her formal Record Label, KnightHouse is the greatest mistake of her life; others were of the opinion that the Nigerian Music industry is now saturated with a lot of talented female singers like Tiwa Savage, Simi, Sheyishay, Yemi Alade and all which might make it difficult for her to get her fame back in the music scene.

Some were of the opinion that she could have continued striking the iron while it was hot, due to the opinion that she left her musical career to finish her degree at the University of Lagos.

But only time will tell if Mocheeda can pull a stunt and bounce back to the frontline.
