How Politics Almost Destroyed My Marriage -Minister of Power, Bayo Adelabu’s Wife, Seyi Reveals

The delectable wife of the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, a.k.a, Penkelemesi, Chief (Mrs) Oluseyi Adelabu clocked 50 on Friday, 31st May, 2024. It was really a celebration galore for the mother of four; 3 boys and a girl.

Mrs Adelabu’s birthday was celebrated across board with warmth messages and prayers as well as posts on social media.

Of course, she has every reason to thank God. It’s not a joke to be 50. She is also a loving wife to her husband and a caring mother to her children. She has remained dutifully steadfast in her marriage of over 30 years. Her children are flying high academically. The husband’s businesses are booming, and his political career has consistently been on the rise.

Basking in the euphoria of her golden jubilee celebration, however, Mrs Adelabu, in a thanksgiving message, revealed some shocking things about her marriage.
She said it took a divine intervention from God to salvage her marriage of over 30 years from collapsing.

According to her, the crisis that almost consumed her home had the couple lives apart for over a year. She, however, said she has leant her lessons from her husband’s close political associates who were instigating her against her man and at the same time would go behind to tell him different stories. …CONTINUE READING

Chief (Mrs) Seyi Adelabu added that her husband’s venturing into politics almost destroyed her marriage due to her naivety, innocence and trusting nature.

“We got married when I was 21 years old and he was 24 years and God blessed us with four beautiful children— three boys and a girl. And we have witnessed unprecedented blessings in our union. In fact, I grew up into his hands and never regretted it.”

My husband’s political enemies, detractors and their agents disguised as friends to incite me against him, telling various lies and giving wrong advices that could distract his husband’s concentration and focus.

They capitalized on the fact that my husband was always busy with political travels and meetings and had little time for the family to peddle unfounded rumours and evil insinuations claiming my husband has abandoned me for younger girls.

And because of my naivety and trusting nature, I almost believed them and accused my husband wrongly on different occasions. I also thought he was far from me with little or no attention during that period of intense political activities deliberately and it all looked like their insinuations were true.

In fact, some of these detractors would cunningly incite me to talk and complain angrily while they unknowingly recorded me and sent it to my husband and some social media platforms to discredit and assassinate my husband’s character.

They even almost turned me against his family believing that they didn’t attend to my concerns and always supporting my husband.

And I was doing all these innocently, believing they were going to intervene for my husband to change his attitude and give me attention.

But I’m grateful to God for giving me such a mature and understanding husband who later corrected his ways after the election was over and made me realize it was the demand of electioneering campaign that distracted him being someone that always give his all to his aspirations especially when it comes to serving the people.

Unfortunately, these people included a couple of my husband’s close friends and family members whose names I would not mention. Surprisingly, they are here today pretending to celebrate with us. They know themselves. It is indeed a wicked world.

Beyond envy of his modest career success, their intention mainly was to destabilise and unsettle his home to lose focus on his political aspirations.

But I was so vulnerable that I have never suspected this on time until the Holy Spirit intervened, scuttled the plan, and my eyes were opened. I’m grateful to God they didn’t succeed in this evil plan as trust and love finally prevailed. Now, I’m wiser and more mature politically. I learned my lessons the hard way. And without third-party intervention, we came back together and back to our old, loving ways.

All these cost me over a year of undesired distance from my husband. So, young couples should be prayerful and patient with each other while true love should be allowed to reign in their marriage.

Aside this short, dark moment of ours in over 29 years of marriage, I stand before you today, on this milestone of my 50th birthday, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and love. This journey has been filled with many beautiful moments, but none more significant than the incredible partnership I’ve shared with my husband.

From the very beginning, he has been the most caring, loving, and supportive partner I could have ever hoped for. His kindness and compassion have been a constant source of strength for me. Whether it was celebrating our triumphs or weathering life’s storms, he has always been by my side, offering unwavering support and encouragement.

His love is not just a feeling but a daily act of selflessness. He has this amazing ability to make even the ordinary days feel extraordinary.

His laughter is the soundtrack of my life, his wisdom my guiding star, and his unwavering belief in me has been the foundation upon which I’ve built my dreams.

Every day, he shows me the true meaning of commitment. His dedication to our family and his endless patience are testaments to the extraordinary man that he is. He is not just my husband but my best friend, confidant, and the love of my life.

Today, as I celebrate this special day, I want to take a moment to honour and thank him. Thank you, my love, for being my rock, my joy, and my greatest blessing. Here’s to many more years of love, laughter, and shared adventures.
I love you more than words can express, and I am so grateful to walk this journey of life with you.”
