A female driver revealed she now spends N4,100 on CNG to cover the same distance she pays N28,000 worth of petrol for.

Another truck driver and a taxi driver also testified that CNG stands out as a more eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative fuel option.

Some motorists who have converted their vehicles to use Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as fuel have shared their testimonies to encourage more Nigerians to go for the cheaper and eco-friendly alternative to the Premium Motor Spirit (petrol)and and diesel. …CONTINUE READING

One of the motorists, a female driver, revealed she now spends N4,100 on CNG to cover the same distance she pays N28,000 worth of petrol for – which is a whopping 85% reduction in fuel cost.

“I converted my vehicle to CNG and I’m loving the results! What I used to cover with N28,000 worth of petrol now costs me just N4,100 with CNG!”

Two other motorists, a truck driver and a taxi driver, also testified that Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stands out as a more eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative fuel option.

Compared to the scarcity-prone and more expensive petrol and diesel, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stands out as a more eco-friendly, cost-effective, and easily accessible alternative fuel option.

Last month, The Presidential CNG Initiative (PCNGI), led by Engineer Michael Oluwagbemi, said that the transition to CNG will save about 6 million litres of petrol per day, adding that 40% to 50% savings can be realised compared to petrol.

“It has the capacity of reducing inflation. It is cheaper. You can realise between 40% to 50% savings from petrol. This is good for Nigeria and it is safer. It is 18 time safer than our petrol and diesel. IT is cleaner and safer for the environment.”

On price comparison….
NIPCO says that cars, taxis and Keke can buy AutoCNG at N200/Standard Cubic Feet (SCF) against the petrol price of N610 per litre in Lagos and N230/SCF against the PMS price of N670 per litre in Abuja.

For heavy commercial vehicles, AutoCNG is being sold at N260/SCF against the AGO (diesel) price of N1,250 per litre in Lagos and N290/SCF against the AGO price of N1,300 per litre in Abuja.
