A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and founder of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu has reacted after former military Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida stated that MKO Abiola won the June 12 presidential election.

He said he lost interest in the speech after he heard the former Head of State saying they annuled the election to protect the interest of the Nigerian people.

Here is what Dele Momodu said;

“I was hoping we would be able to bring some closure to the June 12 crisis. All that we needed to do that day was a full unconditional apology for what happened.

“If I was one of the people who wrote the speech for him, I would have ensured that we don’t give excuses. Just come out and apologize to Nigerians. Apologize to the families that were displaced and destroyed. I believe that would have closed it finally”.
