JUST IN: Disquiet In Rivers APC As Amaechi Adopts Cole

Major stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Rivers State have kicked against the decision of Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi and other leaders to adopt an oil magnate, Tonye Cole, as the party’s candidate for the forthcoming governorship poll.

It was gathered that a committee of 19 elders constituted by Amaechi settled for Cole following a meeting in Abuja on Friday night.

The decision for Cole was said to have unsettled founding members of the party, who were said to be routing for Dr. Dakuku Peterside or Ojukaiye Flag Amachree to give the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) a run for their money.
