The House of Representatives has officially addressed the latest controversy surrounding the 2016 budget by expressing its willingness to re-examine the document.

This was disclosed by the Speaker of the House, Hon. Yakubu Dogara after the members had an executive session on Wednesday.‎

He stated that the lower chamber is ready “to re-examine the 2016 budget in view of the prevailing circumstances in Nigeria.”

The Senate had on Tuesday, expressed readiness to honour President Muhammadu Buhari’s wish to have the Lagos-Calabar rail project, which was allegedly left out in the original budget,
It asked the Executive arm of government to submit a supplementary appropriation bill to the effect.
