….Condemn Muslim/Muslim Sentiments

Concerned Elders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ife have expressed concern on the ongoing struggle to fill the vacant position of the National Secretary of our the party.

The APC National Secretary position has zoned to South West and micro zoned to Osun and Osun East Senatorial District, following the resignation of the Senator Iyiola Omisore on June.

Reacting to the development Concerned APC Elders in Ife in letter signed by flowing leaders, Comrade Sesan Odunlade (Ife Central)
Dr. Israel Adeyanju (Ife Central) Olatunde Owojori, JP. (Ife East) Wale Popoola. (Ife East Modakeke) Adebiyi Femi Adebayo. (Ife South) Hon. Akin Akintunde (Ife North) Yinka Akinpelu (Ife North) demanded for political equity.

The statement reads “we want to implore the party leadership at the national level and our revered leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to critically look at the issue of the National Secretary of our great party, to consider Ife zone of Osun East Senatorial District for the following reasons;

“Currently in Osun, our party is in serious crisis, taking away the position of the National Secretary from Osun East to Osun Central will be counter productive for the future party election going by what prevails in PDP government of Osun state.

“If the rumour making the round that Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola the immediate past governor and leader of the party in Osun State who is from Osun Central is being considered for Osun State ministerial slot is to be true, it is a serious concern that the position of the National Secretary as being rumored should not go to Osun Central. This will greatly impede political spread and progress of the APC across the state

“if the the slot is taken away from Osun East, it should be brought back to Osun East logically and Ile Ife in particular where there are arrays of political heavyweight that are more qualified politically, governmental and administrative experience.

Ile Ife is strategically being focused by PDP because of our voting strength in Osun.

“1. The Deputy governor is from Ife east
2. 5 juicy Commissioner’s from Ife zone
3. 5 strong board chairmen and SA from Ife

“We see all these as one of the many political permutations of the PDP for the purpose of 2026 elections to have a good political standing in Ile-Ife

“Without reservation, the concerned Elders want to mention Senator Babajide Christopher Omoworare, CON as our consensus choice. He is humane, humble, level headed and a bridge builder, accessible and has respect for elders, He has served in different capacity both at the state and federal levels with outstanding performance and we are therefore requesting that he should be considered as a viable choice for the position of the National Secretary of our party for equity and religion balancing.

“As it stands today, Babajide Omoworare is a thorough bred progressive of the Alliance for Democracy stalk from 1999 till date. He served as senator for two terms and just completed another assignment as Senior Special Assistant to the immediate past president. He is experienced with national and grassroots politics and greatly loved by Ife people regardless of our political or faith diversity. He is patriotic and respected Ife son of noble pedigree whose developmental exploit in Ile- Ife has posed him as second to non among his political peers.

“We have confidence in his capacity to uphold the Constitution, principles and ethics of the All Progressives Congress and improve our party’s political fortune in Osun State and Nigeria as a whole. He has over the years displayed political consistency, loyalty and discipline to the party and it’s decisions. He is a shining light of the Asiwaju School of Politics and a diehard progressive.

“We are making this passionate appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Executive Committee and National Working Committee Chief Bisi Akande, Alh Gboyega Oyetola and all leaders of the APC to exercise their power of choice with deep reflection on this request of ours for our beloved son, brother and kinsman Senator Babajide Omoworare as National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress. This we are sure will be of greater good for all.”
