Senate Begins Confirmation Of CBN Gov Emefiele For Second Term

Senate on Tuesday began the confirmation of CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele for second term of office.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s request for the confirmation of Emefiele has been referred to the Senate Banking and Insurance committee for legislative action.

This is coming against the backdrop of alleged flood of petitions against the confirmation.

Buhari had reappointed CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, for a second term.

Senate President Bukola Saraki read a letter from the president reappointing Emefiele for a second term during plenary on Thursday, May 9, 2019.
