Education for the people of Badagry Federal Constituency is one of the top priorities of Hon. Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan, the constituency’s representative in the national assembly. As a result, he continues his courtesy calls to major institutions today, October 13, 2023, this time to the Federal Government College, Ijanikin, Lagos, whose catchment area includes Badagry.

Upon receiving the warm reception of the principal of the college, Dr. Kehinde Famuyibo, in his office, Hon. Sesi thanked him for obliging him to host him and for such a memorable reception at the school. The MHR was ecstatic about the school’s administration and the caliber of its students. He, however, urged the school’s principal and management to consider special admission considerations for Badagry Division indigenes as a social responsibility to the college’s host.

According to him, such consideration will foster positive relationships between the school and the host communities. It will also encourage people in his constituency and the division as a whole to get the most out of the college.

Hon. Sesi stated that as a federal lawmaker in the National Assembly, he would not compromise any assistance required for the college’s development.

The school’s principal, Dr. Famuyibo, in his remarks thanked Hon. Sesi Whingan for his foresight and consideration of the visit. He stated that, despite the fact that the college is the Federal Government’s unity school, priority has always been given to Lagos State indigenes seeking admission to the school, but not at the expense of the school’s admission requirements and prerequisites. He did, however, promise to take Sesi’s request to the school’s administration for consideration.

Mr. Famuyibo used the visitation of Hon. Sesi to seek legislative and other support from Sesi for the college’s proposed Robotic and Science (coding) Center to be situated at the college. This, he said, if established at the Federal Government College, Ijanikin, will be the first of its kind in Nigeria. Without hesitation, Hon. Sesi promised to do his best to ensure such a laudable project is sited and actualized at the college.

Recall that Sesi made similar visits to Lagos State University, Ojo, and Lagos State University of Education, Oto-Ijanikin, a couple of months ago, where similar pleas for admission and job opportunities for the people of Badagry Federal Constituency were made.
